The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, on 17.1.2023, has published on its website draft amendment to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 relating to due diligence by an intermediary under rule 3(1)(b)(v), inviting feedback from the public by 25.1.2023. In response to requests received from stakeholders, the Ministry has decided to extend the last date for receipt of comments on the said amendment till 20.2.2023
It is clarified that there is no extension in the time for inviting feedback on the draft amendment to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 relating to online gaming, which had been published on the Ministry’s website on 2.1.2023, inviting feedback from the public till 17.1.2023 and the date for which had been extended till 25.1.2023
