The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, invites citizens to participate in the Mascot Design Contest for Eat Right India through the MyGov platform.
Eat Right India is FSSAI’s flagship initiative aimed at promoting safe, healthy, and sustainable food for all citizens. The movement encourages people to make informed food choices, adopt balanced diets, and support hygienic food practices.
To strengthen public engagement and make food safety communication more relatable and memorable, FSSAI proposes to introduce a Mascot for Eat Right India. The mascot will serve as the visual ambassador of the Eat Right India movement, symbolising the values of safe food, healthy eating, and sustainability.
Timelines
The contest will be open for submissions for a period of 40 days
Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.
FSSAI reserves the right to extend or modify the timeline.
Objectives
The main objectives of the mascot are to:
Create a unique, memorable, and relatable mascot that represents the values of Eat Right India
Increase public awareness about food safety, nutrition, and hygienic food practices.
Strengthen citizen engagement by involving the public in the Eat Right India movement.
Build an emotional connection with people across age groups, especially children and youth.
Communicate food safety and nutrition messages in a simple, friendly, and engaging manner.
Use the mascot in awareness campaigns across print, digital media, events, and educational outreach activities.

Terms & Conditions
Eligibility
The contest is open to all Indian citizens, irrespective of age, gender, profession, or background.
Both individuals and groups (teams) are eligible to participate.
In case of a team submission, the entry must be submitted under one designated representative, and the prize will be awarded to the representative.
Each participant (individual or group) may submit only one entry. Multiple submissions will not be accepted.
The design must not:
Resemble existing mascots, characters, or trademarks.
Include offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
Violate any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.
AI-generated designs will not be accepted.
Gratification
FSSAI shall provide gratification to the winners of the contest in form of certificate of appreciation and prize money.
For Mascot Designing: Prize money - Rs 50,000
For Mascot Name Prize money- Rs 20,000
In case FSSAI deems fit, there may be more than one winner, and the prize money shall be distributed and divided equally among them.
Submission
Entries must be submitted only through the official MyGov contest page. Each submission must include:
1. Images of Mascot in PDF along with write-up & Mascot name
High-resolution images of the mascot compiled in PDF format (minimum 300 DPI).
The image dimensions must be at least 1920 × 1080 pixels.
File size should not exceed 10 MB.
A name for the mascot.
A short write-up (maximum 200 words) explaining:
The concept behind the mascot
Its symbolism
How it represents Eat Right India values.
The participants’ name, mascot name and write up should be attached as the first page of the PDF.
Participants should also include five mascot expressions/actions, such as:
Signature pose of the mascot (mandatory)
Eating healthy food
Giving a thumbs-up for safe food
Greeting or waving
Running or being active
Smiling or expressing happiness
Holding fruits or vegetables
2. Undertaking
All participants will be required to submit an undertaking declaring the design to be original and transferring all IPR (Intellectual Property Right) to FSSAI.
Shortlisted participants may be required to submit editable source files (AI/CDR/EPS/SVG) within one week of notification.
Failure to provide editable files may lead to disqualification.
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Incomplete or non-conforming entries will not be considered.
Evaluation Process and Criteria
Entries will be evaluated by a jury constituted by FSSAI. The evaluation will be based on:
Creativity, originality, and uniqueness
Alignment with Eat Right India values
Visual appeal and simplicity
Adaptability across platforms and formats
The decision of FSSAI will be final and binding.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
All the submissions will become intellectual property of FSSAI. FSSAI will have the exclusive right to:

Reproduce
Modify
Publish
Display
Adapt
the designs for awareness campaigns, publications, digital platforms, and promotional materials worldwide.
All participants will be required to declare that the design is original and to transfer all IPR to FSSAI.
Disqualification Grounds
Entries will be rejected if they:
Are plagiarised or copied.
Violate copyright or intellectual property laws.
Contain inappropriate or offensive content.
Do not comply with submission requirements.
Liability & Indemnity
The content must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, of 1957.
Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the competition.
FSSAI does not bear responsibility for copyright violations or intellectual property infringements carried out by participants.
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless FSSAI, MoHFW and My Gov against any third-party claims arising from their submissions.
FSSAI assumes no responsibility for technical failures, lost submissions, or disruptions in the submission process.
Usage Rights
By participating in the contest, entrants grant FSSAI the right to:
Use their name, design, and submitted content for promotional purposes.
Showcase selected entries on official websites, social media platforms, and awareness campaigns.
FSSAI shall retain the rights to use the entries sent by participants across branding, awareness, IEC materials, digital, print, and outreach activities
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
The contest shall be governed by the laws of India.
Any dispute arising from the contest will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi.
Acceptance of Terms
Participation in the contest implies unconditional acceptance of all terms and conditions.
FSSAI reserves the right to modify, amend, or cancel the contest at any stage without prior notice.
